  Statement of Intent   for my print advertisement, I will have the Advertising Standards Authority regulations at the forefront of my project as it’s a political assassination documentary. On my billboard I will not have any details that may be distressing for young people and those who are not the target audience as the billboards would be displayed in public like in towns and city centres. As a result I will not have a dead body, blood or pointed weapon at the audience. In addition, I will not have a title or tag line that may frighten anyone about political dictatorships and censorship’s. Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in young audiences 16-25 who have been actively engaged with political and historical documentaries and present politics where as before political documentaries where targeted at and 30-50 year olds. Research Summary  A documentary often focuses on untold stories, ongoing social issues, cultural shifts, environmental challenges, the natural world or historical events  Currently true crime documentaries are in demand due to the rise in streaming platforms and a more active young audience.  Other popular themes are science and nature, history, social and cultural, sports and music  Some documentaries that have made a difference to the world are , “an inconvenient truth”, “black fish”, “super size me” and “triumph of the will” Some of the most watched documentaries are “Micheal Jackson this is it”, “planet earth”, “shoah” and “man with a movie camera” It is estimated that over 400 documentaries were released globally in 2025 The History Of Documentary  Technically the first films released were documentaries as they captured moments of real events like boats at the dock.
